|Origin:||San Benito County - California|
Commonly known as “easy-peeling” mandarins, Satsumas originated in Japan and were brought to the U.S. in the late 19th century. They have a thin rind that separates easily from the flesh, and a sweet, musky juiciness with hints of honey. The juice is a deep orange color. Satsumas are prone to damage due to the thin skin, and should be handled carefully to maintain their quality.
