Responsibilities:
Ensure the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a profitably manner. Plan, direct, and implement warehouse & delivery operations and administrative support to meet prescribed productivity and service goals. Operate in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes.
Direct the operations of the warehouse and delivery management team to achieve prescribed objectives. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates. Assist Human Resources in creating programs for hiring, training, professional development, and implementing appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wages increases, and terminations.
Supervise warehouse and delivery shift supervisors (includes occasional review of their routes and schedules). Hold management and staff meetings to organize warehouse and delivery activities.
Keep managers and supervisors informed regarding the company’s performance. Act as coach and mentor to all warehouse supervisors. Continuously strive to improve operational performance by improving processes and systems and leadership of staff members.
Maintain a high productivity rate and continuously improve the company’s quality and service expected by our customers. Achieve performance objectives in the areas of food safety, personal safety, product quality, customer service, productivity, inventory control, and spoilage
Assist in the establishment of customer service standards for all customers (internal and external) and communicate these standards to all personnel. Assure that customers receive the required level of operations and administrative support. Maintain contact with all customers and respond to requests when required.
Ensure the creation of necessary warehouse information systems to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse and delivery operations. Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Operations and/or Distribution
- Baccalaureate Degree in business, logistics or engineering preferred
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail, warehouse management systems, routing software)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent planning and decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to solve problems and resolve any conflicts that arise
- Ability to build teams and develop subordinates
- Bilingual-Spanish speaking strongly preferred
